The Planning Authority is committed to ensure that land use meets the needs of today’s society and future communities.

The Planning Authority is seeking to recruit Systems Supervisor (Software).

The role requires a person who will be responsible to provide software for the effective, reliable and secure operation of the hardware and systems on the Authority’s network.

• To assist in the daily operation of the Authority’s ICT systems and to assist in the provision of support, maintenance, monitoring, fault identification and resolution for servers, equipment and end-user devices and systems.
• To install, configure, test and support and maintain information systems.
• Participate in a project team environment for the analysis, design and implementation of information systems as required by the organisation, including the planning activities, reporting project progress and maintaining quality.
• Assisting in the full development cycle and maintenance of information systems, including analysis, requirements elicitation, programming, documentation, testing and user training.
• To assist in the creation, updating and review of quality documentation and maintenance of the quality system of the ICT Unit.
• Carry out various subsidiary tasks relevant to effective working in the job.
Applicant/s should have:

Route A or Route B

Route A – Qualifications and Experience

Good level of education with six O’Levels including Maths, Maltese and English. One Advanced Level pass or equivalent in Computer Science.

Software development experience for at least one year using C#.NET, Microsoft SQL Server and ASP.NET

Additional experience using ASP.NET MVC or JavaScript and HTML5, will be considered an asset.


• Route B – Experience

Software development experience for at least two years using C#.NET, Microsfot SQL Server and ASP.NET

Additional experience using ASP.NET MVC or JavaScript and HTML will be considered an asset.


• Skills: (applicable to Route A and B)
Good oral and written communication skills; aptitude towards technical problem identification and resolution; ability to write reports, generate statistics, analyse data and recommend appropriate course of action.
